This Asparagus Taleggio Flatbread combines the mildness of the creamy taleggio and the saltiness of the prosciutto to make wonderful savory flatbread. It makes a great party appetizer or main dish! Can’t find taleggio? Try with brie!
This recipe is really easy to throw together in a pinch. I buy pizza dough at the bakery in my local grocery store. If you can’t find that, or aren’t making your own, you can use the pizza dough in the refrigerated section.
Preheat oven to 350. To make clean up easy, place a piece of parchment on your counter. Sprinkle with a little flour and roll out the dough on the parchment. Now, place lift the parchment and place on a sheet pan.
Drizzle the top of the dough with a little olive oil. Spread the oil with a pastry brush or by hand, making sure to cover the entire top of the dough.
Wash and trim your asparagus and arrange on top of the dough. I like to use the skinny or thin asparagus, it cooks quicker and I think it’s tastier.
Slice the taleggio, cutting off the rind, and arrange on top of the asparagus. Do the same with the prosciutto, then, if desired, sprinkle with black pepper.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden. Then flip the oven to broil for just 2 – 3 minutes, until lightly browned. Watching closing to make sure not to burn.
Let the Asparagus Taleggio Flatbread cool for just a minute and then slice and serve!
Enjoy!
