How To Make Butterball Cookies

Like most of my recipes, these Butterball Cookies are very easy to make. They are a great cookie to make with kids too!

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except for the last 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar.

If you have a food processor, I suggest using it to finely chop the walnuts. If you don’t have walnuts, pecans will also work. Also, sifting the flour and confectioners sugar really helps with the consistency but it’s not required.

Using a fork or pastry blender, mix all the ingredients until crumbly. You want the butter to still be somewhat firm to get the right crumbly consistency.

Measure out and roll the dough into tablespoon sized balls and place on a parchment lined sheet pan.

Bake for 15 minutes at 350. While the cookies are baking, prepare a plate or shallow pan with the remaining 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar.

Remove the cookies from the oven and roll in the confectioners sugar while they are still warm. If they cool too much, the confectioners sugar may not stick to the cookie.

Store in an airtight container and/or freeze until ready to serve.

Enjoy!
