How To Make Chocolate Oatmeal Balls

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and shortening with an electric hand mixer. Then beat in egg, milk and vanilla extract. Next, beat in the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir in the oats by hand.

Using a small cookie scoop or teaspoon, scoop out and shape one inch round balls and place on the sheet pan a couple inches apart. Then dip a fork in flour and press a crisscross into the balls and flatten slightly.

Bake for 9 -11 minutes and cool on a wire rack.

Store in an airtight container.

Hope you enjoy!
