  • Author: The Sweet Cucina
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 Servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon Glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon to food processor and pulse to combine the dry ingredients.
  3. Cut the cold butter into cubes and add to dry ingredients.
  4. Pulse until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  5. Add heavy cream and beaten egg, pulse until combined.
  6. Turn dough out on to sheet of parchment paper.
  7. Add the cinnamon chips and knead into the dough, form the dough into 1/2 inch thick circle.
  8. Using a knife, cut into wedges. Separate the wedges on the parchment.
  9. Slide the parchment onto a sheet pan.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes and cool on a wire rack. (Don’t discard the parchment just yet!)
  11. Once cooled place the wire rack with the scones back on top of the parchment.
  12. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cinnamon and milk.
  13. Use a spoon to spread glaze over top of the cooled scones.
  14. Enjoy!

Notes

  • I use parchment paper for easy clean up. It will prevent the dough from sticking to the kitchen counter and to the sheet pan.
  • Sometimes Cinnamon Chips are hard to find, these scones are just as delicious without them!
  • If you do not have a food processor, you can mix all of this by hand.
