Cookie Dough Brownies

These Cookie Dough Brownies combine all the goodness of cookie dough with the chewiness of brownies! With a layer of chocolate on top, they are like little cookie dough candy bars!

Cookie Dough Brownies

These Cookie Dough Brownies are so easy to make! I use a boxed brownie mix to make the recipe even easier, but you can use your favorite brownie recipe.

First, prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions. No tricks here, just follow the brownie mix instructions for a 9 x 9 baking dish.

Let the brownies completely cool. While the brownies are cooling, mix the Edible Cookie Dough.

In a large bowl, blend the softened butter and brown sugar with a hand mixer. Mix in the vanilla and milk. Then beat in the flour. Last, stir in by hand the chocolate chips.

When the brownies are cooled, evenly spread the cookie dough on top of the brownies.

I used wax paper to make sure I pressed all the cookie dough evenly on top of the brownies.

In a small microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips for the top layer. Microwave for 1 – 2 minutes at a time, stirring in between, until chocolate is smooth. Let cool for just a few minutes so not to melt the cookie dough when spread on top.

When a bit cooled, spread evenly. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes so that the chocolate sets before cutting.

If you refrigerate longer, let sit out on the counter for about 15 – 30 minutes so that it’s easier to cut.

Ingredients

Brownie Layer

  • 1 box Brownies (baked according to box)

Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Layer

  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Make and Bake Brownies according to instructions in a 9 x 9 baking dish.
  2. Cool Brownies completely.
  3. While Brownies are cooling, prepare Edible Cookie Dough.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, blend together butter and brown sugar.
  5. Add milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Then mix in flour.
  7. Stir in Chocolate Chips. Set dough a side until brownies are cooled.
  8. Once brownies are cooled. Spread cookie dough evenly over top of brownies.
  9. Using wax paper, press cookie dough into brownies and level.
  10. In a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate chips, heating for 1 – 2 minutes at a time and stirring until smooth.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes, so not to melt the cookie dough.
  12. Evenly spread melted chips over top.
  13. Cover and refrigerate for 15 – 20 minutes so chocolate sets before cutting.
  14. Enjoy!
