How To Make French Bread Pizza
I think French Bread Pizza is one of the easiest pizza dinners to throw together! I started with one store bought baguette. Depending the size, you may need two baguettes, I was able to make four 6 inch pizzas from one loaf.
Cut in half and then cut each half lengthwise. Arrange on a parchment or foil lined cookie sheet. To prevent the bread from getting soggy it will need to be toasted before adding the topping.
Do prepare for toasting, mix olive oil and spices in small bowl. Using a pastry brush, cover the tops of each piece of baguette with the olive oil mixture. Then bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Now that the bread is toasted let’s get to the toppings. I used Pesto and tomato sauce as the base for my pizzas. But you can also use alfredo sauce. There are no rules when it comes to topping a pizza! Saying that, I used ingredients I happen to have in the refrigerator. So, you can throw anything on top of these pizzas!
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Then flip the oven to broil for 1 – 2 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned.
Add some fresh basil on top of the hot pizzas if desired.
Hope you enjoy!!
