Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, dry active yeast and a pinch of sugar. Set aside.
  2. In another small bowl, mix melted butter, eggs and sugar.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add flour and salt.
  4. Add the yeast mixture and egg mixture to the flour.
  5. Mix by hand or use the paddle attachment, until dough comes together.
  6. Then knead by hand for 10 minutes or switch to dough hook and knead for 5 minutes.
  7. Cover dough with plastic wrap in mixing bowl. Let rise for one hour. (This is a good time to take rest of the butter out of the refrigerator).
  8. After one hour, turn dough out on to lightly floured surface and knead into a ball. Cut dough in half.
  9. Roll out each half, spread softened butter on top of dough using a butter knife.
  10. Cut the dough into triangles and roll up starting with the wide edge.
  11. Arrange rolls on parchment lined baking sheet(s). (I used 2 baking sheets).
  12. Cover rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 20 minutes.
  13. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  14. Melt remaining softened butter, after 20 minutes, uncover rolls and brush the tops with butter.
  15. Bake for 12 – 14 minutes.
  16. Enjoy!
