How To Make Homemade Pizza Dough
Did I mention that this Homemade Pizza Dough recipe yields TWO pizzas?! Yes, it’s true! Don’t worry, make one now and save the other for later!
First, mix water, yeast and sugar in large mixing bowl. Let sit about 5 -10 minutes until the yeast activates and gets foamy. Now, add olive oil, two cups of the flour and a pinch of salt and begin mixing on low with a dough hook. Mix until the dough looks combined but a little rough.
Increase the mixing speed to medium and add remaining flour. Mix for about 5 minutes on medium, the dough will look smooth and elastic.
Transfer to another bowl slightly greased with olive oil or oil the sides of the mixing bowl. This will make the dough slide right out of the bowl after rising. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for one hour.
After an hour, transfer to lightly floured surface, and split into 2 equal halves.
Here is where you decide, one pizza or two? Or none, you can always make this ahead of time and refrigerate. Whichever you choose, tightly wrap the unused dough with plastic wrap, if freezing, also place in a resealable bag.
Back on the lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about the size of a cookie sheet. The dough should be thin. Carefully transfer to a parchment lined sheet pan. Add the sauce and cheese or whatever toppings you desire!
Now, bake for 15-17 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve immediately! Hope you enjoy!!
