- 1 refrigerated pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 6 slices bacon, cooked, chopped
- 4 oz gruyere, shredded
- 1/4 cup chives, chopped
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare pie or quiche dish with pie crust, set aside.
- Chop Bacon and Chives, and grate or shred gruyere if needed.
- Place the bacon, gruyere and all but 1 tbsp of chives in the pie crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream, milk and eggs with a hand mixer for 3-4 minutes until light and frothy.
- Pour egg mixture over the bacon, gruyere and chives in the pie crust.
- Sprinkle top with remaining chives.
- Bake for 40 – 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving, or cool completely, slice and store in an airtight container.
