How To Make Rum Cake

This cake is such at treat and one of my favorites to bring to a party or a potluck! Let’s get started!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, water, oil and rum with an electric hand mixer.

Generously grease a bundt pan with cooking spray. Chop the pecans and sprinkle around the bottom of the bundt pan. The pecans or any nuts are optional.

Pour the batter evenly on top of the chopped pecans. Bake for 50 – 55 minutes. If your pan is not a dark coated pan, consider reducing the bake time by 5 to 10 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.

Remove the cake from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before flipping onto a plate.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Then add the water and sugar. Bring to a low boil for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove pan from heat and stir in the rum.

Using a spoon or pastry brush, baste the cake with the butter rum mixture. Let the glaze soak in and then baste it again. Continue this process until all the glaze is used.

Hope you enjoy!!
