How To Make Skillet Steak Fajitas

These are seriously the easiest fajitas! First, let’s prepare the marinade. Now, this marinade may seem a little unconventional for fajitas but trust me it make delicious fajitas!

In a small bowl, add soy sauce, honey and, if desired, chili garlic sauce. Only add the chili garlic sauce if you would like a little kick. If you would like more than a little kick, add 2 teaspoons. Whisk the sauce together.

Place skirt steak in a large resealable bag, pour in sauce mixture. Seal bag and lay bag flat on countertop for 30 minutes making sure the marinade is evenly distributed. Now, if you aren’t going to make this right away you can place in the refrigerator but I wouldn’t marinade for more than 2 hours. Skirt steak absorbs flavors quickly and a longer marinade could over season the beef.

While the steak is marinating, slice bell peppers and onion. After about 30 minutes, spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add sliced bell peppers, onions and sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring frequently for about 5 – 7 minutes or until onions and peppers begin to cook down.

Push veggies to the outside of the skillet creating a large well for the steak. Place marinated steak in the middle of the veggies, if needed cut the steak in half or pieces. Discard marinade. Cook steak for 5 minutes, flip and cook another 5 minutes.

Transfer steak to cutting board and let rest for 3-5 minutes. Slice steak into 1/4 to 1/2 strips and serve with the peppers, onions, tortillas and all the fixings! Also, makes great fajita bowls!

Hope you enjoy!
