Slow Cooker Overnight Oats

These Slow Cooker Overnight Oats are perfect when you need something quick and easy in the morning. Just place all the ingredients in your slow cooker, then the magic happens and voila breakfast is ready!

Ingredients Needed For Slow Cooker Overnight Oats

  • steel cut oatmeal
  • water
  • salted butter
  • dark brown sugar
  • ground cinnamon
  • vanilla extract

How To Make Slow Cooker Overnight Oats

So, let’s talk about how easy these oats are for just a minute. All you need is a Slow Cooker or Crock Pot, mine is non-stick but if you are using a ceramic cooker or pot you might want to lightly spray it with cooking spray or use a liner.

Add all the dry ingredients first, then the vanilla and water. I suggest prepping this later in the evening close to your bedtime so its not ready too early in the morning.

Stir all the ingredients together and turn on your slow cooker to the low setting (8 hours).

My slow cooker has a warm setting that it switches to when the 8 hours are up, which is wonderful! I didn’t get to the oats for close to 9 hours and they were perfect and still warm!

Stir it up and serve!

And just like that, breakfast is ready! Garnish with berries, apples or raisins if you wish.

I also refrigerated my leftovers and enjoyed the meal prep for a couple of days!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup steel cut oatmeal
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp. salted butter
  • 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in Slow Cooker or Crock Pot.
  2. Cook on Low for 8 hours for thicker oats (6-7 hours if you prefer your oatmeal less thick).
  3. Stir and serve.
  4. Garnish with fruit if you wish.
  5. Enjoy!
