How To Make Valentine Sugar Cookie Bars
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray or line with parchment if using cookie cutters. I use a glass baking dish, I feel I get the best results with cookie bars and brownies.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together softened butter and cream cheese using a hand mixer.
Then add in the granulated sugar and blend with butter and cream cheese mixture. Next, beat in egg and vanilla extract. Lastly, add flour, baking soda and baking powder and mix until completely blended, mixture will be thick.
Spread into greased pan or on top of parchment. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Let bars cool for about 10 – 15 minutes, then lift bars out using parchment.
If desired, use your favorite Valentine shapes and cut out the cookie bars. You can discard the scrapes or keep for snacking 🙂 Decorate as you wish!
Hope you enjoy!
