Confession, I love making heart shaped foods for Valentines Day! And these Valentine Sugar Cookies are no exception! This the BEST Sugar Cookie cutout recipe! Quick to pull together and easy to rollout! This is my go to recipe for every holiday, just add the cookie cutter of your choice!

- all-purpose flour
- confectioners sugar
- sea salt
- salted butter
- large egg
- milk
- vanilla extract
- pink cookie icing

How To Make Valentine Sugar Cookies
I have been making this sugar cookie recipe with my mom since I was little. I loved cutting out all the different shapes, not to mention eating the cookies! 🙂
In a large bowl, sift flour and confectioners sugar, then add the softened butter and salt. The softer the butter the easier it will be to mix. Using a pastry blender or fork, mix until crumbly.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla and milk and then add to the flour and butter mixture. Stir together using a mixing spoon until combined.
Layout plastic wrap and transfer dough on top of wrap. Wrap into ball and place in refrigerator. Let the dough refrigerate at least an hour.
When you are ready to cutout the cookies, pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Split the dough in half and rollout on a lightly floured surface. Use the cookie cutters of your choice to create shapes and transfer to a parchment lined sheet pan. Form the remaining dough scraps into ball and repeat until all the dough is used.
Bake at 375 for 8 minutes and transfer to wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining cookie dough. Decorate your cookies as desired.

Valentine Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 cup salted butter, softened (2 sticks)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- pink cookie icing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift flour and powdered sugar.
- Add salt and softened butter sticks.
- Blend butter into sifted mixture with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg with vanilla and milk, and add to crumble mixture.
- Mix all ingredients together with a spoon until well blended and form into a ball.
- Transfer ball to plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour (or overnight).
- When ready to cut out, pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Split dough in half and roll out on a lightly floured surface.
- Use cookie cutters of your choice and repeat above step until complete.
- Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
- Transfer to rack to cool and repeat with the remaining cutouts.
- Decorate as desired.
