Broccoli Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 oz pasta (any shape), cooked
  • 1 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milkĀ 
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese or cheddar cheese mix
  • 8 oz broccoli florets (steam in bag)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  2. Steam broccoli and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a deep skillet or saute pan over medium heat.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the butter and whisk together to form a roux.
  5. Slowly whisk the milk into the roux.
  6. Continually whisking until the mixture is smooth and let come to a low boil.
  7. Whisk in the cheddar until smooth.
  8. Add the pasta and broccoli and toss until combined.
  9. Serve immediately!
