How To Make Dark Chocolate Cranberry Bars
Bars are one of my favorite things to make, whether it’s cookie bars or brownies. They are so easy, one bowl, one pan, bake and done!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 13 x 9 casserole dish or glass baking dish with cooking spray, set aside. In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, softened cream cheese and sugar with a hand mixer until smooth.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until completely incorporated. Then mix in the baking powder, baking soda and all-purpose flour. Lastly, stir in by hand the dark chocolate chunks and dried cranberries with a wooden spoon or spatula. If you can’t find dark chocolate chunks, you can use dark chocolate chips.
Spread the mixture into the lightly greased 13 x 9 dish. The mixture will be thick you may need to use a butter knife to spread.
Bake for 22 – 25 minutes, checking with a toothpick at 22 minutes for doneness. If the toothpick isn’t clean, continue baking for 1-2 minutes at a time until done. Let cool for about 15 minutes before cutting.
