This Green Chili Cornbread is one of my favorites! So easy to make with cornbread mix, creamed corn, cheese and of course, green chilis! Perfect side for chili, soup or BBQ, plus it freezes and reheats well for meal prep!
Ingredients Needed For Green Chili Cornbread
- cornbread mix (such as Jiffy)
- creamed corn
- diced green chilis
- shredded cheddar cheese, mexican blend cheese or jack cheese
- salted butter

How To Make Green Chili Cornbread
Cornbread is one of my favorites and this recipe is made in one bowl and ready in less than an hour! Let’s get started! Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a square baking dish, set aside.
In a large bowl, add a box of cornbread mix (I used Jiffy), creamed corn, diced green chilis and shredded cheese.
In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, microwave a half a stick of butter for about 30 – 45 seconds. Pour on top of ingredients and mix by hand with a wooden spoon until incorporated.
Spread batter into the greased square baking dish. Bake for 40 minutes, the top and edges should be lightly browned. Let cool a few minutes before cutting. Enjoy right away with chili or soups! To store leftovers, cool completely and freeze or refrigerate in an airtight container or resealable freezer bag.

- 1 box cornbread mix (such as Jiffy)
- 14.75 oz. can creamed corn
- 4.5 oz. can diced green chilis
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, mexican blend cheese or jack cheese
- 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, add cornbread mix, creamed corn, shredded cheese and diced green chilis.
- In a small glass bowl, melted butter in the microwave for about 30 – 45 seconds.
- Pour butter on top of ingredients in the bowl and mix by hand until completely incorporated.
- Spread batter into the greased baking dish.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 – 10 minutes before cutting.
