This Tomato Sauce is so quick and simple, and with only a few ingredients, it can be thrown together in a pinch! It’s a great basic sauce to use on pizzas, pastas or as a dipping sauce. Makes an easy weeknight meal!
In a medium saucepan, add the olive oil and garlic on medium heat and cook until fragrant, being careful to not let the garlic burn. Then add the crushed tomatoes and water (use the can from the tomatoes and fill 1/4 full). Cover the saucepan to prevent the sauce from splattering. Finish by adding the spices and fresh basil.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 30 – 40 minutes.
Serve with your favorite pasta or use with my Cast Iron Pizza recipe.
