Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift the flour and powdered sugar.
  2. Cut in the butter into the flour and sugar with a fork or pastry cutter until it resembles fine crumbs.
  3. Mix in the beaten egg, milk and vanilla until the dough holds together.
  4. Form into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap and chill for one hour.
  5. After one hour, pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  6. Split dough in half and roll out on a lightly floured surface.
  7. Cut shapes using desired cookie cutters and place on a parchment lined sheet pan about one inch apart.
  8. Bake for 7 – 8 minutes.
  9. Cool on wire rack and continue baking remaining dough.
  10. Frost cooled cookies as desired.
