How To Make Walnut Coffee Cake
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. I used cooking spray to grease my dish but you can also you Crisco and flour.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Then beat in the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
Alternate adding the dry ingredients and sour cream in thirds, mixing well between each addition.
In a small bowl, mix all the topping ingredients. Then spread half of the batter in the greased pan and sprinkle half of the topping on top. Then spread carefully spread the second half of the batter and finish with remaining topping.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350. Check with a toothpick and if needed bake for 1 – 2 minutes at a time until toothpick comes out clean.
For this recipe, I used a ceramic 9 x 13 baking dish and only baked for 30 minutes but ovens and bake ware may vary.
