Italian Fried Tortellini

Ingredients
  • 1 package Refrigerated Tortellini
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil
Instructions
  1. Cook Tortellini according to package, drain and cool.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, grated cheese and spices.

  3. In a shallow dish, add breadcrumbs.

  4. In a large skillet, pour in just enough olive to cover the bottom of the pan.

  5. Add sliced garlic to oil in skillet and heat on medium heat.

  6. Place about 10 - 12 tortellini in the egg mixture and toss to coat.

  7. Place the coated tortellini in the breadcrumbs.

  8. Transfer breaded tortellini to skillet.

  9. Cook until one side is golden brown, then flip and repeat on other side.

  10. Transfer to paper towel lined plate when done.

  11. Repeat process until all tortellini are cooked.

  12. Serve with a side of Tomato Sauce.

Recipe Notes
  • Start with one egg and 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs and add more if needed to complete the breading process.
  • Option: bread ahead of time store in the refrigerator until you are ready to fry.
  • Option: fry ahead of time and reheat on a parchment lined cookie sheet at 350 for 5 - 10 minutes until crispy and hot.
